Power Granola – Our Favorite Healthy Granola Recipe
One of our favorite things to eat for breakfast (and often as a snack as well!) is healthy granola. What is granola? Granola is a kind of cereal that consists of oats, a sweetener, dried fruits, nuts and seeds. The great part – you can mix it up and make a different version each time. And it is healthy and nutritious!
How to make granola? Here is our healthy granola recipe:
Ingredients
- 2 cups of steel cut or large flake oats
- ¼ chopped walnuts
- ¼ slivered almonds
- 1/3 cup ground flax seed
- 2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/3 cup orange juice
- 1/3 cup honey or maple syrup
- ¼ cup brown sugar or coconut sugar
- 2 tsp. coconut oil
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/3 cup dried cranberries
- Cooking spray
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 300 degrees Celsius
- Combine the first 5 ingredients in a bowl
- Combine orange juice, honey and sugar in a saucepan.
- Cook over medium heat until sugar dissolves. Stir frequently.
- When cool, add oil and vanilla, and stir.
- Pour honey mixture over oats.
- Stir to coat.
- Spread into a think layer on a pan covered with cooking spray.
- Bake at 300 degrees Celsius for 10 min and stir well.
- Bake an additional 10 min, until golden brown.
- Store in dried cranberries
- Cool and enjoy
Quick Tips:

Vary the nuts, and add in seeds for more crunch and texture

Switch up the cranberries for apricots, raisons or prune.

Sprinkle on top of other cereal, on yogurt on as a stand-alone cereal with milk – yum!
